Natalia Gherman, UN chief candidate and former Moldovan foreign minister, called for global engagement and coordinated response to tackle the security treat in today’s world as “no nation alone is capable to respond and to defend itself.”

She made her statement during the audition for UN Chief on Wednesday at UN Headquarters in New York.

Gherman also addressed peacekeeping and development issues.

The UN General Assembly on Tuesday kicked off a three-day audition with nine candidates for the position of next UN Secretary-general.
