National U-23 friendly with UAE turns ugly after free-for-all

The national Under-23 football team’s friendly match with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ended with a free-for-all at the Shah Alam Stadium.

Malaysia was leading 2-0 on Friday night before UAE players resorted to cynical tackles.

Referee Suhaizi Shukri failed to take control of the match as tempers flared. And all hell broke loose after UAE’s Mohamed Khalfan Al Harasi kicked a Malaysian player at the end of the game.
