Nearly 1.5 million pilgrims have arrived in western Saudi Arabia for the annual Muslim pilgrimage of hajj. It is one of the five pillars of Islam, and is among the largest religious gatherings in the world. Saudi authorities have adopted new security measures this year with aims to avoid a re-occurrence of last year’s stampede, which killed around 2,300 people. Adel El Mahrouky reports from Mecca.
