Nearly 10,000 dengue fever cases reported in Taiwan since May

Taiwan is dealing with a breakout of dengue fever, with the number of people reported infected since the start of summer now verging on 10,000. The rapid spread of the disease prompted authorities to establish a “central epidemic command center” late Monday. A cross-strait information sharing system with the Chinese mainland has also been established, to better prevent and control the spread of disease in the future.
