Nepal gov’t appeals for calm after deadly clashes over new constitution

The Nepalese government on Tuesday appealed for calm as anger flared over the police killing of two demonstrators. The violence took place during a protest against the new proposed constitution. Under the draft, which has been held up for years due to political wrangling, Nepal will be divided into six provinces. But the country’s political parties have been unable to reach an agreement.
