New Delhi limits traffic to curb air pollution

India’s capital New Delhi has kicked off a sweeping plan to reduce its record-high air pollution by limiting the numbers of cars on the streets for two weeks. Private cars will be allowed on the roads only on alternate days from January 1 until January 15, depending on their license plate numbers. Last year, the World Health Organization ranked New Delhi as the world’s most polluted city.
