New private home sales in September hit 14-month high since July 2018 cooling measures

New private home sales for September came in strong, hitting the highest in 14 months
since property cooling measures were implemented in July 2018. According to latest figures
from the Urban Redevelopment Authority, September’s new private home sales of 1,270 units
was 13% higher than the number of units sold in August. It is also 36% higher compared to
the same period in 2018, where less than 1,000 new private homes were sold. Analysts expect
new private home sales for 2019 to likely reach 12,000 units, outperforming 2018’s numbers.
