The country’s weather authority has lifted the orange alert for smog but an orange alert remains for fog. In some regions, the dense smog has reduced visibility to about 50 to 200 meters causing massive traffic disruptions. With the arrival of a cold front, the smog is expected to disperse later today, but the weather authority warns that north China will choke from smog again starting Monday and the sky may not clear until next year.
