New round of Syrian Talks begin

A new round of Syrian Peace Talks have started in Geneva, but with the Syrian opposition being absent. The United Nations Special Envoy for Syria is hopeful that the High Negotiation Committee (HNC) of the opposition will join in the discussion this Sunday. Syria’s conflict has killed more than 250,000 people, displaced millions and forced hundreds of thousands to Europe as refugees.
The priorities of the Peace Talks are a broad ceasefire, humanitarian aid deliveries and halting the threat posed by ISIS.
