New school building demolished in S. China

A teaching building in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has to be demolished and reconstructed as it is subsiding.

The building, completed in August last year, was never put into use.

Local authorities say the subsidence, which is triggered by geological complications, hasn’t caused any injuries.

The construction is fully funded by a local property developer and the demolition and rebuilding is expected to cost 1.5 million U.S. dollars.
