New surge in attacks breaks out in Southern Thailand

The Thai government has announced it has removed one of its lead negotiators in peace talks with rebels in the south of the country. It is thought that the current military government was unhappy with the compromises being discussed between the negotiating team and the insurgents. Nonetheless, the peace talks show little sign of progress, and a new surge in attacks suggests the insurgents have little faith in the process.
