Nitin Gadkari Defends Narendra Modi | Bihar Elections 2015

Even as the list of dissenters grows in the BJP post the Bihar debacle, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday (November 11) defended Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah over the massive defeat. Hitting out at the voices of dissent, Gadkari said this was not party’s first failure and that the BJP had lost elections even under the leadership of L K Advani. Blaming the failure to understand the “social arithmetic” in the state, Gadkri said, “There is a need to increase our vote bank by 5-7%. Our party has seen a lot of wins and defeats. It’s a party of workers, not of a family,” he said. Ruling out Shah’s ouster as BJP president in the wake of Bihar defeat, Gadkari added that stringent action should be taken against those who were making “irresponsible statements” against PM Modi and Shah.
