No Action Against VK Singh Over Dog Remark

The Delhi Police has informed a local court that no case can be made against Union minister VK Singh for his ‘dog analogy’ remarks over the alleged killings of two Dalit children in Haryana. The police have reportedly informed the court that the context in which the remarks was made was “not defamatory”. Earlier, a local court had sought a report in this case. Minister of state V K Singh’s had commented that the government cannot be held responsible if a stone is thrown at a dog – in the context of the murder of two dalit children in Faridabad – inviting a storm of criticism from opposition parties. In the wee hours of October 20, alleged upper caste assailants had set ablaze the house of Jitender after pouring petrol from the window. Jitendra’s son Vaibhav, who was two-and-a-half-years-old, and 11-month-old daughter Divya were killed, while his wife Rekha, 28, is battling for her life at Safdarjung Hospital.
