NSS participants pledge sustained efforts to strengthen global nuclear security

The fourth and last Nuclear Security Summit concluded in Washington D.C. on Friday with a communique issued that calls for more actions to tackle the ‘evolving’ problem of nuclear and radiological terrorism. Recognizing that the threat of nuclear and radiological terrorism still poses as ‘one of the greatest challenges’ to the world and is ‘constantly evolving’, the communique asked for ‘more work’ to be done to ‘prevent non-state actors from obtaining nuclear and other radioactive materials, which could be used for malicious purposes.’
