Obama offers ‘regret’ to Putin over Turkey shooting down Russian warplane

US President Barack Obama met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday. They discussed the situation in Syria, stressing the need for cooperation between the United States, Russia, Turkey, and other countries to resolve the crisis. Obama expressed regret over the recent death of Lt. Col. Oleg Peshkov, the Russian pilot that was killed after Turkey shot down a Russian warplane at its border with Syria.
