Obama says ‘No’ on Pakistan nuclear arms, but calls for help in Afghan talks

US President Barack Obama urged Pakistan on Thursday to avoid developing its nuclear weapons that could increase risks and instability in the region and called for further cooperation to push the Afghan peace talks forward. In talks with visiting Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Obama “stressed the importance of avoiding any developments that might invite increased risk to nuclear safety, security, or strategic stability,” according to a statement released by White House.
