With just a few months left in his presidency, US President Barack Obama is meeting with Asia-Pacific leaders to secure his political legacy, the so-called Asia-pivot strategy to bolster ties with Southeast Asian countries long overlooked by the superpower. Obama is currently making the first visit to Laos by a sitting US president. He is also one of several world leaders arriving for meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
