Obama to tackle ‘unfinished business’ of gun violence in 2016

US President Barack Obama has made fighting gun violence his chief resolution for 2016. In his New Year’s Day address, he called it a major piece of “unfinished business” for his administration. As he marked the start of his final year as president, Obama expressed regret at the little progress made in the past seven years toward remedying the firearm “epidemic.” The president will meet with Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Monday to discuss options in reducing the toll of deaths and injuries from firearms.
