Obama to visit Hiroshima

President Barack Obama is set to become the first serving US president to visit Hiroshima, the site of America’s first nuclear attack. He has made plans to visit the Japanese city when he attends the G7 summit later this month. Obama hopes to underscore his efforts to curb nuclear proliferation, but the White House has stressed that the visit should not be interpreted as an apology. What is Obama trying to achieve from his move? Zha Daojiong of Peking University, Ken Jimbo of Keio University, and Peter Kuznick of the Nuclear Studies Institute at American University discuss the past and future of nuclear warfare.
