Obama’s appearance in Cuban comedy imparts better future ties

The episode featuring the participation of the United States President Barack Obama has upgraded Vivir del Cuento, the most popular comedy show in Cuba, into a viral success worldwide.

The scene was recorded during Obama’s visit to Havana on March 21 and its entire version will be aired on Cuban television on March 28, featuring the president playing a game of dominoes with three average Cubans.

“The message we want to convey is that the relations between the two countries hopefully don’t impasse again like dominoes. There has to be from now on friendship, respect and dialogue between the two governments. We believe in a better future.”

Full of symbolism and references to the almost half-century freeze between the two countries, the show delivered much fun as well as an optimistic message.
