Official: Taliban set free 125 police after day of capturing

Taliban militants on Sunday set free all 125 police personnel, governor of Wardoj district Dawlat Mohammad Khawar said. The release came a day after the police were captured in Wardoj district in Badakhshan Province. An earlier media report said the policemen had joined the Taliban after three days of fighting in the province, over 300km northeast of Kabul.
