Saturday, December 12, marks the Double Twelve online shopping carnival which falls on the heels of last month’s “Double Eleven” record breaking sales event. China’s e-commerce giant Alibaba grossed sales of 91.2 billion on its Tmall platform during the “Double eleven” shopping festival. Although there are reports that nearly half those profits were lost due to returns and refunds afterwards, it still bodes well for the Double Twelve event, which they see as an opportunity to build their brand especially among the young people.
