Over 1,700 work to put out forest fire in China

A forest fire in northern China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was put out after more than 1,700 rescue workers fought the blaze for nearly 35 hours. The fire started in Jinlin forest at around 15:50 GMT Wednesday and was extinguished at about 04:00 GMT Thursday, thanks to 700 armed police officers and 1,000 firefighters.
