Torrential rains have lashed Anhui Province, eastern China relentlessly for the last few days, causing Foziling Dam, located in Huoshan County, to exceed its warning line. Rising water levels raised concerns about the dam’s safety, and so water was discharged downstream at a rate of roughly 2,000 cubic meters per second – the highest since the dam was built in 2005.
