Overseas Chinese commemorate WWII victory

A conference to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of WWII was held in Berlin by the overseas Chinese community on August 11th. Around 450 Chinese from all over the world attended the event, which is also celebrated as China’s victory against Japanese invasion. China’a Ambassador to Germany Shi Mingde said at the meeting that commemorating the event is especially meaningful.He said that Germany truly regret its war crimes, and has won the trust and respect from European countries. It has made great contributions to the peace and prospects of Europe and European integration after WWII.
