Pakistan’s interior minister has condemned the US drone strike that reportedly killed Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour at a small town in Pakistan’s southwest province of Balochistan along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the attack was a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty, and could sabotage peace talks. He said he could not confirm that Mansour had been killed by the US drone strike because the body was too charred. The Pakistani minister dismissed US statements that Mansour had opposed peace talks, and said the Taliban leader had held talks with the Afghan government last year.
