Fifteen people were killed and nearly 40 others injured in a bus bombing in the northwestern Pakistan city of Peshawar on Wednesday. The blast happened in a turbulent area where Pakistani forces have intensified their campaign against the Taliban and other militant groups along the Afghanistan border. That campaign was launched after the December 2014 attack at an army-run school in Peshawar that killed more than 150 people, most of them children. No one immediately claimed responsibility for Wednesday’s bus attack, but suspicion will likely fall on the Pakistani Taliban and other allied militant groups.
