Congress leader Manish Tewari today questioned the government’s decision to continue with the NSA-level talks with Pakistan, since “Pakistan is not interested in the talks.” “This government has made an absolute joke of itself with regards to engagement with Pakistan. One thing is very clear that Pakistan is not interested in the conversation, otherwise it would not have broken the promises made at Ufa,” he said. He also questioned whether the Prime Minister was under an international pressure to participate in talks with Pakistan, considering

that the neighbouring country “had not taken a single step since Ufa in order to create an environment which could be considered conducive for talks”.
