Passers-by lift bus off trapped couple in SW China

Heroic bystanders rushed to a man and woman’s aid, after a horrific crash in Chengdu, southwest China.

The collision occurred during morning rush hour on Thursday, when the man, surnamed Wang, was riding a motorcycle with his wife.

Around 50 passers-by soon gathered, and helped lift the bus slightly off the ground, as the commuters worked to free the trapped couple.

“I was deeply touched when I arrived at the scene. Dozens of passers-by were lifting the bus with their bare hands, trying to free the stricken victims.”

The couple were retrieved from under the bus within minutes, and then rushed to a nearby hospital.

Both of them showed were resuscitated in hospital, but unfortunately, the man died early Friday, and the woman is still in ICU receiving treatment.
