Recently, a serious traffic accident was captured by surveillance cameras in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. A motorcycle carrying a man and a woman was knocked down by a van backing up, causing the woman to be run over by a car close by. Soon after the accident, a group of pedestrians rushed over and saved her from underneath the wheel. Police said that she is being treated in an ICU and is not out of danger.
In China, WHO estimates that approximately 260,000 people die as a result of road accidents each year. Of the total estimated deaths, around six in 10 are especially vulnerable, such as pedestrians, cyclists, and people on motorcycles.
