People in Syria’s rebel-held towns in urgent need of aid

A Syrian opposition figure says aid convoys could be allowed into a besieged town north of the capital Damascus on Monday, where people are said to have been starving to death. Some 40,000 civilians and 200 rebels were trapped in the rebel-held town of Madaya. Due to extreme shortage of daily necessities, people are living in dire conditions, but reports say the supplies can only support people there for about one month.
