It was one of the most notorious mass killings of Peru’s bitter internal conflict between guerilla fighters and the government. Throughout the 1980s and 90s, nearly 70,000 Peruvians died in the conflict. Now, 30 years on, a Peruvian court has handed down sentences, convicting army officers responsible for the infamous Accomarca massacre. CCTV’s Dan Collyns reports.
