Petrochemical plant fire put out

A ferocious fire was put out 24 hours after it engulfed a petrochemical plant in east China’s Shandong Province.

The blaze broke out at around 7:40 a.m. on Thursday as tanks containing liquefied hydrocarbon leaked at the plant in the city of Rizhao.

The fire has triggered an evacuation of 5,000 residents nearby due to safety concerns.
