Police deploy smoke bombs against protesters in Ferguson

Police officers deployed smoke bombs against people demonstrating on the first anniversary of the killing of Michael Brown by a policeman in Ferguson, Missouri, on Sunday.

The peaceful protest turned violent after gunfire was exchanged between police and unidentified persons during the rally, triggered by at least one man discharging several rounds from a weapon. Police have shot one man, leaving him in a critical condition in hospital.
