Police To Present Indrani and Sanjeev Khanna In Court

Indrani Mukerjea, the main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, whose custody ends on Monday (September 21) will be produced in a Bandra Court today. Mumbai Police is likely to seek extension of judicial custody so that they can interrogate Indrani, Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyam Rai in the Sheena murder case. Earlier, the Maharashtra Government had handed over the case to CBI but there has been no response from the central agency so far. Sheena was murdered on April 24, 2012, and her body was burnt and disposed of in the forest in Raigad District the next day. Indrani was arrested by Khar Police on August 25 over her alleged role in the murder of Sheena Bora, her daughter from an earlier marriage, in 2012. Sheena, 24, was allegedly kidnapped from outside National College in the western suburbs. She had come to Mumbai from Assam in 1990s along with Indrani and completed a BA in Economics from St Xavier’s College. Mumbai Police have arrested Sheena’s mother Indrani and her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and former driver Shyamvar Rai in connection with the crime.
