Political Fight Over Dadri Forensic Report

After a report prepared by a forensic lab in Mathura has concluded that the meat found in the Dadri lynching victim’s house was beef, big political fight has erupted with the opposition questioning the Samajwadi Party government. BJP MP Adityanath said the report has put UP government, opposition parties at the Centre and a section of media in the dock. Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav questioned the authenticity of the forensic report which stated that the meat found from Dadri lynching victim Mohammad Akhlaq’s house was of “cow or its progeny”. Akhlaq’s family, which has always denied eating beef on the day of the attack, has rejected the Mathura lab report. Akhlaq’s brother Jaan Mohammed alleges conspiracy, says the report is tampered with. And, accused Vishal’s father Sanjay Rana demands that action be taken against Akhlaq’s family for slaughtering cow.The finding was in contrast to the preliminary report of an enquiry by the Uttar Pradesh Veterinary department which said the meat over which Mohammad Akhlaq, 52, was lynched on September 28 last in Dadri was mutton of ‘goat progeny’.
