Polytechnic, diploma students to get concessionary fares for public transport

Polytechnic and diploma students will be getting concessionary public transport fares for the
first time. For now, nearly 60% of 80,000 polytechnic and other diploma students have bought monthly concession passes. Without the pass, they have to pay adult fares. The monthly concession pass currently costs $25 to $51 and is set to increase to between $26.50 and $54. Associate Professor Walter Theseira, Head of Master of Management (Urban Transportation) at the Singapore University of Social Sciences, was in the studio to give his insights on the fare hike.
