Forest fires continued to burn overnight in Portugal near the area where at least 62 people had been killed by Saturday. The latest data provided by the Secretary of State of Internal Administration revealed that at least 18 victims had been killed in their cars on a section of road that was engulfed by flames. Portugal’s President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa visited the affected areas on Sunday and told the nation there would be three days of official mourning.
