Power supply resumes after blaze in Xi’an, NW China’s Shaanxi Province

A fire at an electricity substation in Xi’an, in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, left over 80,000 homes without power early on Saturday morning. The incident happened at a substation in the city’s southern Chang’an district. The local fire department sent 21 fire engines and 90 firefighters to tackle the blaze. It was extinguished around 1:30am on Saturday morning. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
