A powerful Taliban truck bomb has struck a guest house popular with foreigners in Kabul. There were no immediate reports of casualties. The powerful explosion occurred at around 1:30 local time this morning, and was felt across the city. Local reports say a truck packed with explosives struck the entrance of Northgate guest house. It is close to the US-run Bagram air base—a heavily guarded compound with blast walls and watchtowers. The Taliban say the guest house belongs to “American invaders”.
