Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has met with Myanmar’s first State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi in Beijing. Li said China hoped the two sides can press ahead with cooperation projects including a gas pipe line and the Myitsone Dam. After the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of several agreements, including one involving a bridge project in Myanmar. Suu Kyi is on a five-day official visit to China. It is her first major foreign trip since the new government took office this April. She was received by Li at a welcome ceremony ahead of the meeting.
