President Xi: China-U.S. cooperation avoids disasters

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for more efforts to build a new type of major-country relationship between China and the U.S.

He emphasized that if the two countries cooperate well, it could booster world peace. Should they enter conflict or confrontation, it would lead to disasters.

The Chinese president, who’s on his first state visit to the United States, made the remarks during a speech in Seattle on Tuesday.
