President Xi holds bilateral talks with leaders of South Korea, Spain, Thailand

Chinese President Xi Jinping has held more bilateral talks with world leaders on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. Speaking with South Korean President Park Geun-hye, Xi reiterated China’s opposition to the US deployment of the THAAD anti-missile system on the Korean Peninsula. Park said her country is committed to deepening mutual trust with China. Xi told Spanish sitting Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy that China appreciates Spain’s support for the “Belt and Road Initiative” and encourages Chinese companies to invest in Spain. Rajoy said his country is willing to work with China to explore the potentials in trade and investment while expanding cultural and academic exchanges. In a meeting with the Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, Xi said China and Thailand should enhance cooperation in all fields. Prayuth said Thailand would work to expand cooperation in trade, tourism and infrastructure.
