EU officials have arrived in Beijing to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the annual China-EU summit. Since it began in 1998, the summit has been an important platform for deepening economic and political relations. Amid the current uncertainty of the Brexit fallout and frictions over the steel industries of the two sides, the summit is set to boost future cooperation and exchanges. Will the economic fallout from Brexit impact China’s relationships in the region? Cui Hongjian of the Department for European Studies at the China Institute of International Studies and Fraser Cameron, a former British diplomat and EU official now working at the EU-Asia Centre, share their views on the issue.
