Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend a series of United Nations (UN) summits in New York, marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the world body, from September 26-28. This will be President Xi’s first visit to the organization. Chinese authorities say the visit reflects the importance the country’s leaders attach to multilateral diplomatic activities and the UN’s work. Xi is scheduled to address the anniversary session of the UN General Assembly.
