Putin commemorates Japanese surrender in Far East ahead of China visit

Russian President Vladimir Putin marked 70 years since the Japanese surrender in Russia’s far eastern city of Chita on Wednesday.

Chita is the first stop in Putin’s three-day working trip.

He flew to Beijing later the day to participate in the celebrations devoted to the 70th anniversary of victory in the war against Japan and Second World War.

The Russian leader will also hold talks with the Chinese leadership. (Video: Ruptly.tv)
