Heated debates have aroused after 85-year-old Chinese researcher Tu Youyou was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine, even though her work was actually a collective one. But Rao Yi, an accomplished neurobiologist from Peking University who has been doing historical research of China’s development of Artimesinin while focusing on Tu Youyou’s work, insisted that Tu’s contributions to the project warrant her prize.
