Rapid development of bilateral relations between China and Laos

Bilateral relations between China and Laos continue to show potential and promise. In 2011, both countries agreed to enhance security on the Mekong River to tackle trans-national crimes. In 2016, they vowed to fight terrorism and drug-related crimes. In 2016, bilateral trade revenue reached 2.3 billion US dollars, and Chinese investment in Laos reached 5.4 billion US dollars.
