Relatives of those on board the Kogalymavia flight 7K9268 that crashed in Egypt’s Sinai gathered at the Crown Plaza Hotel in St. Petersburg on Saturday.
Authorities opened hotlines for the public to clarify information, and sent psychologists to assist the
Russian Embassy in Egypt has said all 224 people on board – 217 passengers, including 17 children, and seven crew members – died.
Authorities transferred relatives to the temporary centre at the hotel from Pulkovo International Airport, where the flight was scheduled to land at 12.10 local time (09.10 GMT) after departing the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh at 06.51 Moscow time (03.51 GMT).
