Footage released on Monday by Russia’s Central Military District shows the launch of an Iskander-M cruise missile during drills at the Kapustin Yar testing range in the Astrakhan region on Friday.
The missile targeted a command centre of a mock enemy at a distance of 200 kilometres (124.2 miles). Due to the use of stealth technologies, the missile was not detected by the enemy radar and successfully destroying its target.
The Iskander-M tactical missile system has been used by the Russian Armed Forces since 2006. The system is highly mobile and maneuverable and can be deployed for combat within 20 minutes.
